Summary

Russia belongs - besides China, India and Brasil - to those markets with the biggest growth potential for the automotive industry. In comparison to the other growth markets, the Russian market is still relatively at the beginning of its growth and distinguishes itself from the others with regard to its structural character. Although international car manufacturers, who are building production capacities in Russia, and the traditionally Russian manufacturers, are confronted with in part totally different initial situations, they all have one thing in common: The need for a modern, functional supplier basis who meets international standards. The resulting business opportunities and the chances for competent suppliers, in addition to the growth potentials, give the Russian market a strategic standing for Magna International.
