Summary
In 2006, Mercedes-Benz was the world's first manufacturer to introduce a spray-guided lean-burn combustion system to the gasoline engine, combining high specific engine output with exceptional fuel consumption values. After presenting the technology in the M272 DE six-cylinder engine in 2006, the spray-guided combustion system was introduced in 2010, starting with the new 4.6l biturbo V8 engine as a homogeneous application, followed by the new M276 DE six-cylinder engine with an enhanced lean-burn combustion process as part of the new BlueDIRECT engine generation [3,4]. In the future, the technology will be rolled out with all new 4-cylinder engines.
Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
Members of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers have access to all lectures of the International Vienna Motor Symposia.
