Summary
With the market launch of the new S tronic, AUDI AG is presenting the next-generation dual-clutch transmission and continuing its series of sporty, innovative and efficient transmission concepts. As the first transmission type of the new S tronic platform, the transmission with the designation DL382-7F is for use in front-wheel drive vehicles from the modular longitudinal matrix (MLB). The seven-speed transmission is conceived for a torque of 400 Nm and for engine output of up to 200 kW. Top priority during development of the new S tronic was the reduction of fuel consumption. All sub-assemblies underwent extensive simulation and optimisation in order to reduce frictional losses and drag torque to a minimum. In terms of efficiency and fuel consumption, the transmission sets new benchmarks and contributes towards achieving further potential in the reduction of CO2 emissions from the vehicle as a whole.
