Summary

In order to comply with increasingly stringent regulations, fuel economy improvement strategies have become a key priority for the automotive industry globally. To successfully abide by these mandates, Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) is continuously working on improving the efficiency of the internal combustion engine and developing green car powertrain systems. To this end, HMG has been analyzing and evaluating all possible powertrain platforms and line-ups for each platform. Improving the efficiency of internal combustion engines has resulted in megatrends like downsizing and the convergence of technologies between gasoline and diesel engines.
