Summary

Regenerative energy and efficient use of resources will gain increasing importance in the future. This will affect not only the automotive industry. Particular public attention is aimed at the market of heat- and electric power generation. Volkswagen’s cogeneration unit „EcoBlue 2.0“ provides a substantial contribution in terms of efficient resource application and represents a fundamental element within the environmental strategy of Volkswagen AG. By means of using Volkswagen’s experience in the fields of engine technology, acoustics, electronic control and heat management, a product has been accomplished which, being integrated into an intelligent operating concept, offers unique advantages against any competitor and will see sales in substantial quantities.
