Summary
Within the scope of the systematic ongoing development of Volkswagen engines in respect of consumption, emissions and driving fun, the 3-cylinder TSI® engine is the next step in the evolution of the EA211 engine family to enter series production in A0 and A-class vehicles. The modular construction of the EA211 engine family delivers the conceptual basis for efficient and rapid implementation of the adaptations necessary for the I3 TSI® engine, thus enabling a short development time. The developments made in the charge cycle and injection components of the I3 TSI® compared with the 4-cylinder unit form the basis of a more efficient combustion process with faster energy conversion. Within the EA211 engine family, the new 3-cylinder TSI® with 1.0l displacement represents the next systematic step in downsizing. Like the well-known, highly efficient and dynamic 4-cylinder engines in this family, the 3-cylinder TSI® combines low exhaust emissions with low fuel consumption without any restriction in driving fun.
Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
Members of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers have access to all lectures of the International Vienna Motor Symposia.
