Summary
In future Diesel engines will continue to represent the predominant drive system for commercial on-highway and off-highway applications. During the last few years development efforts in engine technology were mainly geared towards complying with the increasingly demanding legal emission limits all over the world. Significant improvements in NOx and PM emissions in the range of 95 % were achieved on the basis of comprehensive system solutions comprising optimized combustion systems, exhaust-gas after-treatment concepts, and efficient air and injection systems. Common-rail and exhaust-gas after-treatment systems made by BOSCH have contributed significantly to this progress. The tightened CO2 emission legislation expected for the future represent another challenge for development engineers eager to create intelligent and cost-effective overall system solutions.
Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
Members of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers have access to all lectures of the International Vienna Motor Symposia.
