Summary

Battery Systems are a key enabler for the performance and competitiveness of batteryelectric vehicles. The current generation of Battery Systems still shows limitations regarding the key product characteristics, namely costs, performance-weight-ratio as well as crash and thermal performance. Based on a comprehensive analysis of the market requirements and OEM pain points, Faurecia has developed an innovative Battery System. It reduces the costs of BEV, PHEV und FCEV while increasing performance at the same time. Basis for the concept development is Faurecia’s system competence in the areas of drivetrain, lightweight design and industrialization. The system advantages of the Battery System are realized with a maximum system integration of Cell Modules, Battery housing, crash structure and thermal management into the housing tray. This housing tray is scalable to individual OEM specifications and can also be used for a full integration of the Battery System into the vehicle body-in-white.
