Summary

The Volkswagen Group is currently undergoing the largest transformation in its history.

These range from geopolitical tensions to an increasingly multipolar world, volatile economic conditions on world markets and disruptions to global supply chains. Throughout the world, we are experiencing different growth curves for battery-electric mobility. While demand lags behind forecasts in certain regions such as Europe and North America, the adoption rate in other regions (China) remains constant.

At the same time, the growth of private mobility, especially in new vehicles sales, is reaching its limits in established markets. In Europe, North America, and China, we do not expect significant growth rates in the next ten years. Increases are mainly expected in India, Southeast Asia, and in the long term, in Africa, which is why the Volkswagen Group is intensifying its activities here. In the already saturated markets, competition is intensifying as a result.
