Summary
The new all-electric Porsche Cayenne introduces advanced battery technology that combines high energy density, efficient packaging, and robust performance. The function-integrated high-voltage battery, consisting of six modules with large-format pouch cells, is directly integrated into the vehicle structure, enhancing rigidity and reducing weight. Innovative double-sided cooling and predictive thermal management ensure optimal battery temperature for fast charging and long life. The battery supports ultra-fast DC charging up to 400 kW, enabling a 10 to 80% SoC in under 16 minutes. Additional features include the battery repair concept for improved serviceability, precise SoC detection, and continuous software development within the Volkswagen Group. This presentation provides an overview of the mechanical architecture, cooling system, charging capabilities, and production aspects, highlighting Porsche’s commitment to efficient and high-performance electromobility.
