Summary

With the new 3.0l V6 TDI Gen.3 featuring an electric-powered compressor (EPC), Audi is launching the successor to the successful 3.0l V6 TDI Biturbo. The engine develops 257 kW of power output and maximum torque of 700 Nm. The engine is based on the 170/210 kW variant of the 3rd generation family launched in 2017.
The combination of single-stage exhaust gas turbocharging with an electric-powered compressor and 48V mild hybrid system enables even more dynamic power exploitation throughout the revs range. The outcomes of the latest developments in this generation of V6 TDI engines include conformance to the new WLTP and RDE licensing conditions, with the EU6d-Temp emissions standard, alongside high efficiency and outstanding start-off acceleration.
Upgrades to the cooling and oil circuits, measures relating to the crank drive, an injection pressure of up to 2,500 bar and optimisation of the combustion process are key factors in the engine’s improved performance and efficiency. A combined low-pressure (LP) and high-pressure (HP) exhaust gas recirculation system, along with close-coupled exhaust gas cleaning (comprising an NOC catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter with SCR coating), represents a highly efficient method of reducing emissions.

Lectures from the International Vienna Motor Symposium can be ordered from the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK). Lectures can only be purchased in the form of the complete conference documents, individual lectures are not available.
When placing an order, please note the year/name of the event (e.g. "45th International Vienna Motor Symposium 2024") for the further ordering process.
