Summary
To enhance the potential of renewable energy sources, GLOCK Technology develops optimized stationary storage solutions in combination with complete energy solutions. For industry and residential customers in particular, energy storage and fast-charging supply for e-mobility will become more relevant in the coming years. While personal use will increase with better integration of renewables and batteries, energy storage capacity will enable the distribution of energy for fast-charging infrastructure. Due to the demands of such applications on energy storage solutions, in relation to power density and life time capability, suitable cell chemistries are discussed according to their properties. Laboratory tests of charging/ discharging of prototype cells as well as lifetime tests were performed on zero-strain electrode materials (Li-titanate), serving as a blueprint for larger systems.
Energy storage systems designed for fast-charging facilities will be presented by means of high-voltage batteries. In doing so, relevant system components and their functionality according to safety, ageing and performance are discussed.
