Summary

The development of assisted and autonomous driving technology is bringing automotive safety, comfort and efficiency to a whole new level. The positive market response and potential for brand differentiation are firing up a global race between the manufacturers. Assisted and automotive driving incorporates a multitude of challenging and complex topics arising from regional and national legislation, regulations, and customer preferences.

Ten years ago, Truls Thorstensen and Jack Yu founded the Xuanyuan Award dedicated to a better automotive world. Every year, around 40 vehicles from Chinese, Japanese, Korean, American, and European brands picked from more than 60 vehicles proposed by the manufacturers are assessed by experts in different fields, from independent companies. The vehicle assessment is carried out at NAST Proving Ground (Xiangyang, China) and Huawei Proving Ground (Suzhou, China) every year.

For the first time, we plan to give a public insight into the assessment results and would be honored to do this at the prestigious Vienna Motor Symposium.

The paper will focus on:
- Technology/Artificial Intelligence trends and highlights
- Global and regional differences
- Correlation between configuration and performance in the ADAS field
- Functionality highlights based on typical use cases and various ADAS functions
