Summary
In Cologne in 1876, Nicolaus August Otto, who founded the company which subsequently became DEUTZ AG, invented the four-stroke engine. For the more than 150 years of our corporate history, DEUTZ engines have been run on gas, diesel and synthetic fuels – and, more recently, on electricity and hydrogen as well. We are reinventing the engine, towards a sustainable future for the off-highway segment. With our customers in mind, we are constantly developing our range of low and zero-emission drives. We are focused in equal measure on climate goals and on our customers’ expectations as regards functionality.
DEUTZ introduced the ‘Classic’ and ‘Green’ segments at the beginning of 2022. The Green segment includes all those activities associated with the development and production of non-diesel drives such as the 360-volt drive for the all-electric crawler crane, our first market- ready hydrogen engine, the TCG 7.8 H2, the Powertree® mobile rapid-charging station, and our stake in Blue World Technologies, the Danish fuel cell manufacturer. And even if the green construction site is already a reality, conventional drivetrains, particularly in the power range upwards of 100 kW, will still be in demand and in regular use for many years to come. That’s why we are also working tirelessly to make the combustion engine both greener and more efficient. Because we believe that a sustainable future for off-highway applications is only achievable with a realistic mix of different drive technologies.
