Summary
The light commercial vehicle platform “Iveco Daily” covers a wide range of wheelbases and weight classes. While the general need for electrification of this product is obvious, keeping the scalability, utilizing a high carry-over of the basic vehicle itself and designing a powertrain system covering strongly different use cases of the full platform, show a different challenge than in the passenger car sector.
Starting with a “Diesel-to-BEV”-concept some years ago, FEV and Iveco have jointly developed the electric powertrain with a robust eDrive and HV-architecture, modular multi-battery-system, an integrated, scalable thermal system and the Iveco-own inhouse SW-platform “e.VE.CO.p.”, electrified VEhicle COntrol platform, with a flexible functional architecture to easily integrate components from different suppliers.
In this presentation, FEV and Iveco will show the highlights of the cross-domain-path from the use-cases to the concept and the series development realization up to the SOP in 2023, supplemented by an outlook to future model years.
