Prof. Wolf emphasized that he was delighted to deal with a topic that is more relevant today than ever before: “Russia, a Sleeping Giant?” The Russian market has always been very important for German and Austrian enterprises. Prof. Wolf gave an overview of the current situation in Russia, analysing the market and the circumstances that have to be taken into consideration. Accordingly, he illustrated not only problems with which Russia is struggling at present, but also explained the effects of the sanction policy. As sanctions are a classic and political risk factor for companies, we are directly and indirectly affected by these as well, he pointed out.
