Summary
Since the introduction of the Cayenne and Panamera as sporty front-engine vehicles, the Porsche V8 turbocharged petrol engines have powered the top-of-the-range vehicles in the two model ranges. With the newly developed four-litre V8 biturbo engine, Porsche again creates a milestone in the history of its V engines and launches a high-performance, highly-efficient and compact engine family. Thanks to intensive development in the areas of gas cycle, basic power unit and turbocharging, the engine meets the extremely ambitious targets for both performance and efficiency. Developing 404 kW and 770 Nm, the new four-litre V8 biturbo engine in the Panamera turbo therefore makes it possible to achieve the kind of performance typical for Porsche together with significantly reduced CO2 emissions.
