The 42nd International Motor Symposium 2021 is planned as a face-to-face event and as a virtual event.

Peer Review Process
Contributions made by university lecturers may be subjected to a peer review process if this appears desirable. This peer review process is conducted by the WKM (Scientific Society for Automotive Technology and Engineering), a registered association.
Conference Report
Your lecture text will appear in print in the proceedings of the International Vienna Motor Symposium. The lecture texts are written in English.
From the date of the symposium onwards, your lecture will also be available to participants online in the participants area and the Motor Symposium app.
Participation Fee for Lecturers
Participation in the Motor Symposium (face-to-face event) for one lecturer per lecture is free of charge; the respective valid participation fee will be charged for a second lecturer.
In the case of the virtual presentations, one lecturer per presentation receives free participation in the virtual Motor Symposium. Participation in the face-to-face event is only possible for the full participation fee after prior registration.
Deadlines to be observed by Lecturers at the 2021 Motor Symposium
31 January 2021:
- Latest possible submission of the lecture text as a pdf for publication in the symposium proceedings.
- Submission of the CVs of lecturers. Such CVs should consist of approximately 20 lines, a maximum of 1,500 characters as well as a portrait photograph in a printable resolution (min. 7 by 9 cm, 300 dpi).
1 April 2021:
- Submission of the video of your presentation.
The lecturers will be informed in time about the production and transmission of the video – please see also information on "Video presentations".
Video Presentation
We kindly ask that you also provide us with as a video presentation (video and presentation slides) of your lecture.
We will be happy to assist you in recording the video. We will inform you of the necessary technical recording details from around 15 January 2021 on this website / by e-mail.
Your video will be available to all participants during the symposium and for a limited period after the Motor Symposium in a protected area of the symposium website.
Passing on the videos is explicitly prohibited in the General Terms and Conditions, and technical measures are also taken.
Time allotted to Presentations
The time allotted for your presentation is 20 minutes followed by 10 minutes for discussion.
Presentation of your Lecture
The presentation of your lecture will be based on data projection via your own laptop or a laptop of the organizer.
We request you to indicate your technical requirements and any additional equipment you may need for presenting your contribution. You will receive further written information in good time.
Proposals for Lectures
Proposals for lectures have to include the lecture title, the author’s name and professional title, the name and address of the company as well as an abstract of between 10 and 15 lines. Proposals may be submitted for next year’s symposium by September of the current year at the latest. Please submit only previously unpublished contributions, which should not be released for publication prior to the ensuing motor symposium.
Participants Login/Area/Motor Symposium App
All registered participants, lecturers, students and media representatives at the Vienna International Motor Symposium will be granted access to the “Participants Area“ with the digital symposium documents, the video presentations as well as the virtual exhibition by pressing the button “participants login“ at the top of this website, and also have free access to the Motor Symposium app.
You will find the symposium app at the App Store and at Google Play Store.
During and for a limited period after the symposium, the symposium documents (a list of participants, a list of exhibitors, a map of exhibition stalls on all levels, CVs of the lecturers and of the chairmen of the sessions, all lectures in pdf format) and the video presentations as well as the virtual exhibition will be available in the participants area and in the app.
In addition, logged-in participants have the option of downloading all lectures from previous symposia which can be accessed via lecture search.
The Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (OEVK) will provide information on your access data to the participants login by e-mail a few days before the beginning of the Motor Symposium.
